Project Leader / Project Coordinator for Outreach and Community Building

About the position
We are now hiring two people – one full-time and one part-time – to scale up our work and reach students and pupils across the whole country, with a focus on inspiring and supporting them to find a career with as large a positive impact on the world as possible.
We have secured funding to scale up our work of guiding people towards a meaningful career, through a systematic push to reach far more Norwegian students and upper-secondary school leavers, organise a national career day, and follow up interested participants on their way to a job that creates a large positive impact on society.
We are looking for two people to lead and carry out this initiative – one project manager in a 100% position with main responsibility for execution, from campaign to participant follow-up, and one person in a part-time position supporting the same tasks. Both will be involved in the development of EA Norway as an organisation, and will work closely with the executive director, the board, and the local chapters. The positions are intended as a central contribution to building EA Norway's presence and operational capacity going forward, with the ambition that the positions can be continued.
The exact division of tasks between the two positions will be clarified during the recruitment process, based on experience, capacity, and what is a good match for each candidate.
About Effective Altruism Norway
Effective altruism is a global movement of people who care deeply about the world, make helping others a major part of their lives, and use evidence and reason to find out the best ways of doing so. Effective Altruism Norway (EA Norway) carries out this work in Norway, among other things through career guidance, events, support for local chapters, outreach work, and running the platform Meningsfylt.no, which supports people in finding a meaningful career.
Since its founding in 2015, EA Norway has, among other things:
Guided several hundred people on how to achieve as much good as possible through their careers
Organised international conferences with several hundred participants
Supported local chapters and university groups across the country
Established partnerships with a number of Norwegian and international organisations and think tanks
Supported Gi Effektivt in raising 140 million NOK for the aid interventions that achieve the most per krone

We care more about finding people who are very good at some of these areas than someone who can do everything, and we will try to hire two people who complement each other and the rest of the EA Norway team. Who is a good fit for this role?
We are looking for engaged candidates who are driven by the ideas of effective altruism, and who want to build something new together with a small, dedicated team. You don't need to have done everything before, but you should be motivated to learn and take responsibility.
We know that good candidates come from many different backgrounds – maybe you currently work as a project coordinator, communications adviser, teacher, consultant, or in the non-profit sector. We are open to a variety of professional backgrounds.
The most important things for us are that you have:
Interest in, and preferably some familiarity with, the principles of effective altruism
The ability to work independently and in a structured way, and to drive your own tasks and projects forward
Strong social and communication skills – you enjoy meeting people, giving presentations, and building relationships
Experience from one or more of the areas above (communication, events, community building, project management, administration, or career guidance)
An open mind, humility, and a genuine interest in learning
Many strong candidates will have experience from several of these areas – but not necessarily all of them. We encourage you to apply even if you don't tick every box.
The organisation's working language is Norwegian, and the positions involve extensive direct contact with schools, students, and volunteers, so strong written and spoken Norwegian is an advantage. We prefer candidates based in Oslo, though especially strong candidates elsewhere will also be considered.
