Info meeting with film screening - Open for all

Effektiv Altruisme UiO are having an information meeting on Thursday September 3rd at 16:00. We'll give an introduction about what effective altruism is, what our plans for the time ahead are and what volunteering with our team entails.

Afterwards we'll serve pizza and show the documentary Don't Panic. We often argue that eradicating certain life-threatening diseases is a good idea, but some people wonder to themselves whether this will lead to overpopulation. In Don't Panic, global health professor Hans Rosling explores the relationship between child mortality and overpopulation and why our intuitions about the matter may be contrary to the evidence. The film will be followed by a short critical reflection.

We expect the meeting to last 1,5 hours including the screening. It will be held in classroom 529 on the 5th floor of Eilert Sundts Hus (also known as SV-bygget) at campus Blindern. The address is Moltke Moes vei 31.

We hope to see you there and are looking forward to answering questions you may have about effective altruism or joining the student team! We'd appreciate it if you would fill out the very short registration, however you are free to show up without registering :) Registration is at https://effektivaltruisme.typeform.com/to/WyZTBG)
